Osmosis and the Egg

The science laboratory was designed to show an framework of osmosis. Osmosis is the diffusion of piss crosswise a semipermeable membrane. The experimentation last three eld in which a clod was test in distinct answers. On the first solar day, the unbelief answered was what will happen to an formal when put in vinegar. before beginning the experiment a scheme had to be do. It was hypothesized that by placing an egg in vinegar the vinegar would dissolve the ball shell due to its virulent properties. On the second day, the important question was what would happen to the eggs size when place in hypertonic effect such as seawater vs a hypotonic answer such as sirup. The hypothesis was that the egg would lose bar pucker from the table brine solution from the salt drawing out water from the cell and the egg would gain mass in the honeylike syrup solution.\nThe first day a 32 ounce mason jar was used. 2 nut were cautiously fixed in the jar and change with white vinegar. A jacket was hardened tightly on top and the jar was laid on the countertop for 24 hours. On the second day observations were made to the jar. There were many bubbles nigh the eggs and the jar. The eggs were carefully removed and examined and weighed. Two 32 ounce mason jars were accordingly taken. One was modify with salt water and the other was filled with syrup. A egg was placed in each solution and placed back on the countertop for 24 hours. On the terce day the eggs and jars were examined. first the egg in the saltwater was removed and weighed it appeared to be visibly larger in size. nigh the egg in the syrup was removed and weighed and was visibly darker and little in size. Lastly the eggs were weighed. The decalcified eggs after existence placed in the vinegar had a freight of 1) 69g and 2) 70g. The weight of the egg after placed in saltwater has a resulting weight of 1)78g and the resulting weight of the the egg being in syrup 2)52g.\nWhen the eg g cell was placed in saltwater for 24 hours the egg gained ma...
